You’ll find the 3-star Hotel Epidaurus right next to the beach in a stunning location in the beautiful Tiha Cove just a one kilometre stroll from the village of Cavtat. Swim in the crystal-clear waters or relax by the pool. The choice is yours but do allow a day for a visit to historic Dubrovnik which is easily reached by boat or local bus.

The Hotel Epidaurus offers exceptional value for money and is ideal for family holidays. There’s an entertainment programme for the entire family which is particularly suitable for children and teenagers. The Remy Club caters for children aged four to seven years; the Maxi Club for eight to 12 years and teenagers can get together at the Teens Club (open July & August). If you need something a little more relaxing, head to the spa at the nearby Hotel Albatros where there’s a range of massage and beauty treatments on offer. In the evenings, you’ll enjoy occasional live music, a DJ and folklore shows.

The main Buffet Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of Croatian and international dishes while there is also a special children’s buffet corner, a playroom and a pizza and pasta corner. Round off the day with a drink in the Lobby Bar or the Beach Bar which is open until late.

Game of Thrones fans are in for a treat as Dubrovnik was the setting for Kings’ Landing, capital city of Westeros. You can see where King Joffrey faced a citizens’ riot and the site of the Battle of Blackwater. Moreover, take a gentle coastal walk around the village and enjoy dramatic views and frequent refreshment stops.

A city tour of Dubrovnik and a walk around its city walls is an absolute must during your holiday. It’s easily reached in 45 minutes from Cavtat by the regular boat service but do come early or late as the city can get very crowded especially when there’s a cruise ship in. The views of the city from the top of the cable car are breathtaking. You’ll need your passport to visit two of Dubrovnik’s neighbours. Mostar in Bosnia has bazaars where you’ll be invited to take tea or Turkish coffee with the stall holders. En route you’ll stop to cool down at the Kravce Waterfalls. Or why not travel south to the small country of Montenegro and explore Kotor and Budva?
