Skiathos
A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the Aegean Suites are attractively positioned on a hillside leading down to Megali Ammos Beach in Skiathos. Comprised of just twenty suites, you are assured of privacy and comfort here. The suites are located in four buildings, set around a grove of olive trees, making the area quintessentially Greek. The resort boasts a large swimming pool, a sunbathing area and a hot tub.
The ‘Pelagos’ restaurant, which has a vantage point above the swimming pool, serves gourmet food of both Greek and international variety, and this range of dishes is accompanied by a fine selection of wines. The ‘Karavia’ light lunch restaurant, next to the swimming pool, provides light dishes inspired by Greek and Mediterranean traditions, while there are separate lounge and pool bars for further refreshments. The Aegean Suites has a small and well-equipped gym and there is a spa and beauty corner offering a selection of treatments.

Skiathos is a thriving island in the northwest Aegean, among the Sporades archipelago, and is very popular with tourists in the summer months. Historically, the island was under Ottoman and then Venetian control and the make-up of the island more than reflects this. Sites of interest include the ruins of Kastro, which was once the island’s fortified capital, and the historic Evangelistra Monastery, which was built by monks in 1704 and played a part in the Greek War of Independence by providing a hideout for rebels and some of the resorts like Aegean Suites Hotel.
Forests of Aleppo pine are prominent especially in the northern and south-western parts of the island – and made the island an important shipbuilding centre in the nineteenth century. The Aegean Suites are located on Megali Ammos Beach, which translates to ‘large sand’, and as its name suggests, this is a long stretch of beautiful sandy beach.
