Gennadi is a sparsely populated village in the south of Rhodes Island, just over an hour’s drive away from Rhodes Town in the north of the island. It is less known amongst travellers than some of the nearby hotspots, meaning the village has retained much of its unique character. Here you’ll find modern houses interspersed among more traditional tavernas. Meanwhile, the crystal-clear waters, which lap on the pebble beach, provide a restful retreat. There is a choice of charming restaurants along the beach for whenever you feel like a drink or some food. Although notable for its peacefulness, Gennadi is also home to the Sundance Beach Bar which is said to be one of the best beach clubs in Europe and attracts well-reputed DJs in the summer. The ancient and popular village of Lindos, with its famed Acropolis, is just a short drive away.
