Formerly known as the IFA Faro Hotel, the renamed five-star Hotel Faro at Lopesan Collection has been completely refurbished and will start welcoming guests in December 2019. It enjoys one of the best locations in the Maspalomas area beside the iconic lighthouse only 100 metres from the Faro Boulevard with its boutiques, restaurants and bars.
Although you’ll want to stroll along the famous Maspalomas sand dunes which are just a short stroll from the Hotel Faro at Lopesan Collection, you’ll probably spend lazy days beside the rooftop infinity pool with its swim up bar. Lunch can be taken in the poolside bar and restaurant and in the evenings, the views from the Sunset Rooftop are the stuff of which holiday memories are made. Golfers will receive a discount at the Lopesan Meloneras course located 6 kilometres away.
To help you keep in shape there’s a fully equipped gym and the hotel organises regular yoga and Pilates classes. Less energetic sports such as darts, petanque and table tennis are also on offer. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style in the Ocean restaurant and you won’t miss any sporting action if you drop by the Faro Lobby Bar.
You may feel that the Hotel Faro at Lopesan Collection has all you need for your holiday but if want to explore a little further you can take a walk along the Paseo Costa Canaria coastal path, that passes through tropical gardens or you can discover places such as Playa de las Burras beach, the dunes of Maspalomas, Playa de Amadores beach, Roque Nublo, the harbour of Mogán, the historical town of Agüimes and the Episcopal Palace. There is a selection of water sports, such as windsurfing and jet-skiing that active types can enjoy.
If you fancy a spot of retail therapy, make sure you visit the Yumbo Centre, which boasts more than 200 shops. In terms of memorable tourist attractions, the breathtaking Nature Canariensis Botanical Gardens are a real treat, and a great way of enjoying the magnificent landscapes of Gran Canaria. There’s also the Wild West theme park Sioux City Park, with exciting attractions, a zoo, and delicious barbecue food.
