The Hotel Riu Don Miguel is an adults-only 3-star hotel located in the lively resort of Playa del Ingles on the sunshine island of Gran Canaria. The beach is just 1.5 kilometres away and the hotel run a complimentary bus service there throughout the day. At the beach you’ll find jet skiing, windsurfing and a whole lot more and nearby there are any number of bars, shops and clubs where you can enjoy great sounds into the early hours.
At Hotel Riu Dom Miguel there’s a large swimming pool and a whirlpool bath. Table tennis, pool, table football are on offer. If you want to keep up your workout regime head for the hotel’s well equipped gym. Any golfers in your party will be pleased to find that there are two 18-hole courses nearby. The cuisine of Gran Canaria is a mixture of flavours from Spain and all over the world. At the Riu Dom Miguel, breakfast and dinner are served buffet style in the main restaurant but for a change, book a table at the hotel’s à la carte option, Body’s, and sample the local seafood.
Playa del Inglés beach lies around a 15 minute walk away from the Hotel Riu Don Miguel, and there is a free shuttle service taking you there if you want to save your energy. If you want to explore a little further you can take a walk along the Paseo Costa Canaria coastal path, that passes through tropical gardens or you can discover places such as Playa de las Burras beach, the dunes of Maspalomas, Playa de Amadores beach, Roque Nublo, the harbour of Mogán, the historical town of Agüimes and the Episcopal Palace.
There is a selection of water sports, such as windsurfing and jet-skiing that active types can enjoy. If you fancy a spot of retail therapy, make sure you visit the Yumbo Centre, which boasts more than 200 shops. In terms of memorable tourist attractions, the breathtaking Nature Canariensis Botanical Gardens are a real treat, and a great way of enjoying the magnificent landscapes of Gran Canaria. There’s also the Wild West theme park Sioux City Park, with exciting attractions, a zoo, and delicious barbecue food.
