The Hotel Riu Palace Palmeras will reopen its doors in November 2019 as a new 4-star member of the Riu Palace group. Everything from the swimming pools to the restaurants and bedrooms will have been completely renovated ready to welcome guests. You’ll find the hotel about 350 metres from the popular Playa del Ingles beach and about a 10 minute stroll from the resort centre where you’ll find shops, bars and restaurants.
There’s a well-equipped gym, and watersports are available on the beach. Two 18-hole golf courses are nearby for any keen golfers in your party. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served buffet style in the main restaurant although Pepe’s will have a light lunch option from their grill by the pool. In the evenings you can dine à la carte if you prefer in the Krystal Fusion restaurant.
Playa del Inglés beach lies around a 15 minute walk away from the Hotel Riu Palace Palmeras and the centre of this busy resort. If you want to explore a little further you can take a walk along the Paseo Costa Canaria coastal path, that passes through tropical gardens or you can discover places such as Playa de las Burras beach, the dunes of Maspalomas, Playa de Amadores beach, Roque Nublo, the harbour of Mogán, the historical town of Agüimes and the Episcopal Palace. There is a selection of water sports, such as windsurfing and jet-skiing that active types can enjoy.
If you fancy a spot of retail therapy, make sure you visit the Yumbo Centre, which boasts more than 200 shops. In terms of memorable tourist attractions, the breathtaking Nature Canariensis Botanical Gardens are a real treat, and a great way of enjoying the magnificent landscapes of Gran Canaria. There’s also the Wild West theme park Sioux City Park, with exciting attractions, a zoo, and delicious barbecue food.
