Ikos Dassia

Located in a secluded bay and surrounded by woodland, the Ikos Dassia has impressive views of the mainland. It’s set between the villages of Gouvia and Ipsos in Dassia, a resort that’s home to plenty of tavernas and local bars. Boats also set out on day trips from this area to nearby beaches and coves. Corfu Town is a 10-minute drive away. Where you’ll find quaint, little lanes and alleyways lined with souvenirs, restaurants and lively cafes.

Head for the Old Fortress via the Spianada, cross the sea-moat and climb the battlements for impressive panoramic views of the Greek and Albanian mainland. We also recommend a visit to the pink-and-white Orthodox cathedral, the Town Hall Square and Guilford Street, framed by vines. To the west is Palaiokastritsa (20 minutes by car), meaning old fortress – this is in memory of a castle that was built on the rocky cove where the Monastery of the Virgin now stands. Often considered to be one of the most picturesque villages in Corfu, Palaiokastritsa overlooks a blue bay and is home to six sandy and pebbled beaches.
