Stalis is where you’ll find the I Resort Beach Hotel and Spa. Accommodation is in two waterfront buildings overlooking the hotel’s private sandy beach where sunbeds and umbrellas are provided free of charge. Stalis is quieter than its neighbour, Malia, and is recommended for couples and families wanting a relaxing break to recharge their batteries. Away from the beach, it’s an ideal location to explore the rest of the island and the ancient sites of Knossos, Rethymno and Gortys can be reached via car very easily.
If you’re more of a pool person than a beach person, you’ll find two large outdoor pools with extensive sun terraces. The I Resort Beach Hotel’s spa offers a range of relaxing treatments and you’re invited to join in a whole range of activities organised by the staff around the pool and on the beach. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered throughout the hotel. The main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and to put the finishing touches on a perfect holiday day, relax with a cocktail and enjoy the views over the Cretan sea as the sun goes down. After dinner, there’s regular entertainment including live music, jazz nights and folklore evenings.
Just 25 kilometres from Crete’s capital of Heraklion, Stalis (or Stalida) has grown from a quiet seaside village into a popular resort for those seeking sun, sand and sea although it’s still much quieter than its neighbour, Malia. There are two water parks in the area for those seeking an adrenalin fix, amazing restaurants can be found all over, and its crowning jewel is its abundance of gorgeous beaches. The main beach east of the port of Hersonissos is well organised and popular all year round, Silva Maris Beach has a host of coves to explore, while the beaches in Eastern Hersonissos are much quieter should visitors want to experience a little quiet time. Hersonissos is an ideal location to explore the rest of the island and its ancient sites of Knossos, Rethymno and Gortys can be reached via car very easily.
